Information for Prospective Students
(adapted from Prof. James R. Green website)
I am always happy to discuss potential future research opportunities for graduate students, Postdoctoral fellows and Research Visiting Scholars in our lab. In general, funding is available for outstanding domestic students (in particular those pursuing Ph.D. studies).
Before contacting me, prospective students should:
- Become familiar with the research focus of our lab. Read on this website, the the lab's webpages, our YouTube channel and at least browse our recent publications.
- Write a brief statement summarizing which research topics are the ones you are most interested in.
- Include a resume/C.V. detailing academic and industrial experience, including courses and you GPA.
- Ensure that you meet all entrance requirements as listed on the department graduate studies pages
Please note that I will not respond to random/generic emails (in particular those sent to numerous Faculty members at the same time). PLEASE NOTE THAT, ALTHOUGH I TRY TO RESPOND EVERY EMAIL RECEIVED, I WILL AUTOMATICALLY DELETE YOUR EMAIL IF YOU DID NOT READ THESE PAGES IN DETAIL. I apologize for that, but it's important for you to understand what is explained in these pages before contacting me.
It is very important to visit these pages to find information about scholarships for Graduate Students and Postdoctoral fellows, both Domestic or International, in particular for International students.
I do not have any funding for Internships. Therefore, please do not contact me if you are looking for a summer internship, unless you have obtained a scholarship for such activity.
Also note that funding availability for International students is usually limited. Nevertheless, you can check the following pages to find out information about different scholarships that could be used to fund your graduate studies.
Very recenty, Carleton University has approved a new plan for Joint Ph.D. degrees If you are interested in pursuing a joint degree, read the conditions here.
