Activities

The Broadband Networks Laboratory (BNL) in The Department of Systems and Computer Engineering is a team of professors and graduate students investigating the following areas, primarily for B-ISDN, ATM networks:

  • Control of Variable Bit Rate (VBR) source-rates by congestion notification
  • Sophisticated modelling and generation of multimedia traffic for use in network simulation
  • Network performance evaluation and control for guaranteed Quality of Service (QoS) requirements
  • Advanced mathematical techniques for fast simulation of B-ISDN networks
  • Realization of practical multimedia applications using existing networking facilities
  • Perfomance and access control of interconnected LAN, ATM and Wireless networks
