Carleton Swimmers Finishing Top 3:
New Times in the Top 20:
Previous years' results can be found at the bottom of this web page.
Nico Belisle, ROC Swimming, is our head coach for 2023-2024, as Pierre Lafontaine is taking a sabbatical to coach in China.
The training schedule is below. Note that you are expected to attend at least five swim workouts per week. (If your course schedule does not permit this, we can provide workouts that can be done during Carleton's lane swims.) The dryland workout schedule will be finalized later.
Equipment to bring to the pool:
The competition schedule is posted below.
There is a fee of $1200 to join the team for the season (September to April). Swimmers are encouraged to apply for bursaries to offset the cost. Details below (under "Paperwork and Forms").
The first $200 payment is due on or before Friday September 22. You may pay by cash, cheque, or e-transfer payable to Lynn.Marshall@carleton.ca.
Workouts will start Wednesday September 6. The first ten days will be open tryouts. Everyone should attend as many tryout workouts as possible. The team will be selected from all those who attend the tryouts. Swimmers are selected as general team members (i.e. not selected for specific events.)
Once the team is selected, swimmers are expected to attend at least five swim workouts per week. For those with conflicts with classes, alternate arrangements can be made.
Note:Please do not come to the pool if you have flu or COVID symptoms!
Swimmers attending September tryouts will be informed if they have been selected for the team by Sunday September 17.
Note that swimmers may also tryout for the team later in the season.

Workout Schedule Updates and Changes:
All workout changes will be noted here, and posted in the FB group.
Swimmers may arrange Athletic Therapy appointments by booking here. Be sure to select "CLUB - 30 min AT treatment - 30$ - with Sydney" at the upper left before selecting your appointment.
Please note, there is a $30/treatment fee charged at the beginning of each session. This payment is cash only. You will be issued a receipt and may be reimbursed through insurance. For example, the Carleton students' insurance will refund $25 of each treatment up to a certain limit.
A few student-athletes each week can get free massages on Wednesday from Algonquin College students studying Massage Therapy. Inquire and book at Varsity Athletic Therapy, the room by the Alumni Hall doors to Parking Lot 5 and the Fieldhouse.
To be eligible to swim on the Varsity team, there are a lot of forms to complete!
Please follow these instructions to register:
Once you have completed the registration, you will be able to see your “Dashboard” consisting of red "X"s and green "check mark"s. The “X”s are not necessarily an indication that you have not completed the content. Each of these sections must be approved by Athletics Administration. The X will change to a check mark once these components have been verified. The Confirmation Page allows you to view all components and will identify any sections you may have missed. Please review the Confirmation Page carefully.
Returning swimmers: No cost. Click "Sign In" and follow the instructions. Note that you need your U Sports ID from last year -- let me know if you need this as I have a list. Once you are logged in, confirm your personal information (page by page) and be sure to sign off on the "Athlete Consent Acknowledgement". Please email me (or tell me) when you've completed this, as I don't get a confirmation email.
New swimmers: Cost is $50. Click "Register" and follow the instructions. After completion, please send me your U Sports ID as Carleton needs this for eligibility purposes. Once you have done that and have been added to Carleton's athlete list, I will let you know and you need to go back in and go through your profile page by page, and sign off on the "Athlete Consent Acknowledgement" on the last page of your profile.
If you encounter any difficulties with the system contact me.
The Varsity team has been added to Team Aquatic Supplies Shark Card program. This gives give you a 25% discount on regularly priced merchandise at Aquasport (now owned by Team Aquatic Supplies): 2730 Iris in Ottawa.
