====== Information for Prospective Students ====== (adapted from Prof. James R. Green website) **VERY IMPORTANT NOTICE. DUE TO THE NUMEROUS EMAILS RECEIVED BY CANDIDATES THAT DO NOT TAKE THE TIME TO READ THESE PAGES, I HAVE STARTED TO DELETE YOUR MESSAGES IF YOU DO NOT, AT LEAST, TAKE A FEW MINUTES IN READING THIS MESSAGE AND UNDERSTANDING ITS CONTENT. I APOLOGIZE IN ADVANCE, BUT THESE PAGES WERE WRITTEN TO BE READ. WE DO NOT ACCEPT STUDENTS IN THE LAB THAT CANNOT READ BASIC INSTRUCTIONS FOUND ON OUR WEBPAGES** I am always happy to discuss potential future research opportunities for graduate students, Postdoctoral fellows and Research Visiting Scholars in our lab. In general, **funding is available for outstanding domestic students** (in particular those pursuing Ph.D. studies). Before contacting me, prospective students should: * Become familiar with the research focus of our lab. Read on this website, the [[http://cell-devs.sce.carleton.ca/ars|the lab's webpages]], our [[http://youtube.com/arslab | YouTube channel]] and at least browse [[http://cell-devs.sce.carleton.ca/publications| our recent publications]]. * Write a brief statement summarizing which research topics are the ones you are most interested in. * Include a resume/C.V. detailing academic and industrial experience, including courses and you GPA. * Ensure that you meet all entrance requirements as listed on the [[https://carleton.ca/sce/graduate-studies/|department graduate studies pages]] Please note that I will not respond to random/generic emails (in particular those sent to numerous Faculty members at the same time). PLEASE NOTE THAT, ALTHOUGH I TRY TO RESPOND EVERY EMAIL RECEIVED, I WILL AUTOMATICALLY DELETE YOUR EMAIL IF YOU DID NOT READ THESE PAGES IN DETAIL. I apologize for that, but it's important for you to understand what is explained in these pages before contacting me. It is very important to [[Scholarships| visit these pages to find information about scholarships for Graduate Students and Postdoctoral fellows, both Domestic or International]], in particular for International students. I do not have any funding for Internships. Therefore, please do not contact me if you are looking for a summer internship, unless you have obtained a scholarship for such activity. Also note that funding availability for **International students is usually limited**. Nevertheless, you can check [[Scholarships | the following pages to find out information about different scholarships that could be used to fund your graduate studies]]. Very recenty, Carleton University has approved a new plan for Joint Ph.D. degrees [[http://www.sce.carleton.ca/dept/activities/doku.php?id=cotutelles | If you are interested in pursuing a joint degree, read the conditions here]].
