Abstract

This paper aims at developing a geographic information system for flood emergency logistics planning. By applying of the data processing and network analysis functions of geographic information system, the flooding potential areas maps can be utilized for estimating the possible locations of rescue demand points and the amounts of rescue equipment. The relevant input data for flood emergency logistics planning can be provided by this geographically-referenced database. A detailed data processing procedure of GIS is elaborated. Finally, a real study is presented for demonstration.
