Short biography
Since September 2001, I am an Assistant Professor at Carleton University,
Department of Systems and computer Engineering.
I wrote this short biography on December 4, 2001.
It means that I did not have much time to do any research since I started my
position at Carleton University. In the meantime,
the research topics I am interested in are:
- Call Center Performance Evaluation
- Network traffic processing
- Genes decoding
Before I came here, I did three Postdocs:
- One year at the Department of Mathematics and Statistics,
the University of Saskatchewan, in Saskatoon (Canada). (1) In collaboration with Nortel and MITACS, I
worked on the Fuzzy Connection Admission Control that combines Fuzzy Logic, Traffic Predictions
and CAC function. I also worked on a Self-Learning algorithm that enables the fuzzyCAC to
adapt its behaviour based on the current network conditions. (2) I also proposed a theoretical
model for the Voice Response Unit, that is used in Call Center to process calls from customers.
- One year at the Department of Mathematics and Computer
Science (Wiskunde & Informatica), Vrije University, in Amsterdam (The Netherlands).
I focused on Call Center management, in particular using simulations, I analyzed
calls routing based on requested service and agents skills.
- One year at the Center for Communication Systems Research,
the University of Cambridge (United Kingdom). It was a year dedicated to Differentiated Service Framework
design. I was part of a project within Hitachi.
Before all this (long trip), I did my Phd in France at INRIA,
Sophia Antipolis. I worked on a theoretical model of Web robots or spiders. This work
uses markovian decision processes
In the meantime, you can have a look of my resume (in pdf format)
