Activities and Service:

  • Lead to Win (LTW) is a program for talented individuals who want to launch a new technology business. Lead to Win associates include alumni, local businesses, and faculty members and graduate students of Carleton University’s Technology Innovation Management program.  If you are serious about starting a new tech-based company, please apply!
  • The Talent First Network (TFN) is a province-wide initiative to enable the transfer of open source technology, knowledge about competing in open environments, and talented students from academic institutions to Ontario companies. 
    • Principle Investigator (PI) of two TFN lead projects: 
      1. Carleton University's contribution to the Coral CEA Sandbox;
      2. Enhancements to BigBlueButton.
  • BigBlueButton is an open source webconferencing platform developed at Carleton University and hosted at Google Code; BigBlueButton is a key component of the multimedia distance education platform for delivering TIM graduate courses over the web to students all over the world.
  • The Open Source Business Resource (OSBR.ca) is a free monthly publication of thoughtful insights on open source issues written for and by people who work with open source (ISSN 1913-6102)
    • Member of the Advisory Board
    • Guest editor, December 2008 issue on the theme of Enabling Innovation.
  • The Technology Venture Challenge is Ottawa's most prestigious entrepreneurship competition.  The top three finalists present their innovation proposal to Ottawa’s top technology entrepreneurs, investors, and business professionals, and compete for a grand prize of $10,000.
