Dr. Roshdy H.M. Hafez: Biography |
Dr. Roshdy H. M. Hafez is a professor with the Department of Systems and Computer Engineering, Carleton University. His main area of research is "wireless communications". Over the last 20 years, he conducted extensive research in mobile communications, PCS, indoor wireless LANs and spectrum management. He had many consulting appointments with the Federal Department of Communications, and other major telecommunications companies such as: Nortel, Bell Mobility Cellular, Intelsat, Nynex, Motorola, General Electric, Bell Canada, NovaTel, RAM, DataRadio and CRC. Dr. Hafez supervised more than 40 Master and Ph.D theses, published over 80 articles in technical journals, magazine and conference proceedings, taught short courses in wireless to industrial organizations and lead research projects within the Canadian Institute of Telecommunication Research CITR) and the Telecommunications Research Institute of Ontario (TRIO). He had been invited to present tutorials and special lectures on CDMA and PCS wireless systems in major international conferences. The most recent ones are ICC '96, VTC.98, ICC '98 and NOAMs '98.
