CDMA Access to Wireless PCS Systems
Parsa R. Larijani
Abstract
The thesis deals with the problem of multiplexing different types of traffic (voice, data, video and images) in personal wireless radio systems. The access scheme is Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA). Two types of problems are addressed: (1) schemes for accommodating users of different data rates and different Quality os Serivice (QoS) requirements in an efficient CDMA scenario and (2) admission control strategies. In both types of problems, several options are available to the designer (power, processing gain, transmission rate,..etc). Proposed schemes will be evaluated both analytically and by computer simulations. Practical aspects and compatibility with current and proposed standards are important considerations.
