Dr. Amir H. Banihashemi: Biography

Professor Amir Banihashemi was born in Isfahan, Iran, in 1967. He received the B.A.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from Isfahan University of Technology, Isfahan, Iran in 1988, and the M.A.Sc. degree in communication engineering from Tehran Univesity, Tehran, Iran, in 1991, with the highest academic rank in both classes.

From 1991 to 1994, he was with the Electrical Engineering Research Center and the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Isfahan University of Technology. During 1994-1997, he was with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Waterloo, Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, working towards the Ph.D. degree. He held two Ontario Graduate Scholarships during this period. In 1997, he joined the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Toronto, Toronto, Ontario, Canada, where he worked as a Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) Post-Doctoral Fellow. He joined the Faculty of Engineering at Carleton University in 1998 where at present, he is Assistant Professor in the Department of Systems and Computer Engineering.
