He started his academic career in December 1984 as a Graduate Assistant and later became an Assistant Lecturer in 1987, Lecturer II in 1989 and Lecturer I in 1992, Department of Computer Science, University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria. He was a Lecturer (1996) at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, National University of Lesotho, Roma, Lesotho.   In September 1998 he was appointed Senior Lecturer and Head of department, Computer Science & Information Systems at Vista University (now part of Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University), Port Elizabeth, South Africa. He also taught as part time Lecturer at the Institute National Polytechnique de Lorraine (INPL – 1993/94), Nancy, France and Université de Metz (Now part of Université De Lorraine), Metz, France (1993/94/95). He moved to Carleton University Department of Systems and Computer Engineering SCE as an Assistant Professor in September, 2001.

His research interests are Software Requirements Engineering and Micro-Service Architecture; Cloud Resource Provisioning and Multi-Tenancy; Machine Learning Techniques with application in Data Mining; Deep Learning and Multi-modal & Federated Learning with application in Data Mining

He is a professional engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario; senior member of IEEE and ACM; and member of IAMOT, and PICMET

 

Samuel is happily married to Victoria, and they have adult children: Ibukun (spouse - Lisa), Tobi (spouse – Sulamita), Ayo (spouse – Kerri), and Victoria (Jr); and two grandchildren: Noah Martins and Zoe Jean.
