Dr. Samuel A. AJILA

Samuel Adesoye Ajila was born in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, Nigeria in 1957. He received a B.Sc. (Honors) degree in Computer Science in 1983 from University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria and M.Sc. in Computer Science (Computational) in 1987 from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, Nigeria. He later received M.Sc. (June, 1990), DEA (Sept. 1991) and Ph.D. (June, 1995) in Computer Science (specializing in Software Engineering & Knowledge-based Systems)  from Université Henri Poincaré  -  Nancy I, Nancy, France Université de Nancy I, Nancy; Ecole Doctorale IAEM[1]-Lorraine, LORIA[2] , France

 

He joined University of Ibadan as a Graduate Assistant in 1984. He became an Assistant Lecturer in 1987, Lecturer II in 1989, and Lecturer I in 1995.  He left Ibadan to take up appointment as a Lecturer at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, University of Lesotho, Roma, Lesotho in 1996.    He was appointed Senior Lecturer in Computer Science & Information Systems at Vista University, South Africa in 1998.  He later became the Head of Department. He moved to Carleton University as an Assistant Professor in September 2001.

 

His research interests are in  Reengineering and Software Maintenance;  Software Evolution and Change Management;  Software Processes and Workflows; Software Product Lines and System Family Engineering;  Reuse in Software Engineering; Knowledge Acquisition and Management (with applications in Software Engineering); Discovering Knowledge from data (with applications in Software Engineering). He is a member of IEEE, ACM, and IAMOT

 

Samuel  is married to Victoria, and they have four children: Ibukun, Tobi, Ayo, and Victoria (Jr).
