Q: My project includes a device that a person can wear and use. I was wondering if this project requires the approval of an ethics committee to proceed with testing, and if so, who I should contact to learn more about the process of approval?
A: Any project involving any of the following items requires approval from the ethics committee:
  • testing of human subjects,
  • surveys of human subjects, or
  • the use of archived data collected from humans.
