Comments on the Project marking Scheme for 94.586

Since different projects will have different content (emphasis on different steps in the 
design process and so on), the marking scheme will be adjusted according towhat the 
project is trying to do. for this reason, it is important that you state your project's goals 
and scope clearly in the introduction.

I expect to use the following relative weights for the different aspects or parts of the 
report:

... weight 1 for motivation for the system being designed
... 1 for the goals of this project (which usually will not be a complete design, but just 
certain stages)
... 2 for a clear description of the chosen design (structure and behaviour) (architecture 
and design)
... 1 for identifying issues in design, and reasons for making the decisions on the issues
... 2 for good decisions
... 1 for writing up the evaluation of the design against your goals, and also a general 
evaluation, and the summary of the project.

This adds up to a weight of 8... as I said, I will adjust these weights if a project seems to 
require it.

Overall and within each of these aspects or parts, I will be looking for the usual qualities:

... clarity... such as well-defined terms used consistently, completeness of descriptions
... completeness of treatment... dealing with all aspects of the problems. You can set 
limits on what you are trying to do, so we are looking at completeness within those limits. 
... presentation and organization, so that a reader can follow the sequence and quickly see 
the points.
